Bluesound NODE N132 Performance Music Streamer
The Bluesound NODE N132 is a versatile music streamer, DAC and preamp designed to bring BluOS streaming into an existing Hi-Fi system. With HDMI eARC, analogue and digital inputs, variable RCA output and a built-in THX AAA headphone amplifier, it can sit comfortably between a traditional amplifier, powered speakers, headphones and a TV.
Its ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M DAC supports PCM up to 24-bit / 192 kHz and DSD256, alongside Apple Music through BluOS, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect with Spotify Lossless, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Roon Ready and two-way aptX Adaptive Bluetooth. Dirac Live readiness also provides an upgrade path for room correction.
For listeners wanting more system flexibility than the NODE NANO without moving to the larger NODE ICON, the N132 is the natural middle ground in Bluesound's current streamer range.

A Closer Look At The Bluesound NODE N132...
Overview
The NODE N132 sits at the centre of Bluesound's current NODE family. It is designed for listeners who want streaming to become a central part of an existing stereo system while keeping useful source inputs, TV integration, headphone listening and room-correction capability in the same compact component.
At its heart is an ESS SABRE ES9039Q2M DAC, paired with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor. Bluesound supports PCM playback up to 24-bit / 192 kHz and DSD256, with a specified THD+N of 0.0007%. The analogue RCA output can operate at fixed level into a conventional integrated amplifier or preamplifier, or with variable volume control when connecting directly to compatible power amplifiers or powered speakers.
Where the NODE N132 becomes particularly useful is system connectivity. HDMI eARC allows a compatible TV to feed audio directly into the NODE, while the combined mini-TOSLINK / 3.5 mm analogue input provides a path for another digital or analogue source. Optical, coaxial and USB Audio 2.0 outputs allow the NODE to operate as a digital transport into an external DAC, while the dedicated RCA subwoofer output makes it straightforward to build a compact 2.1 system.
The built-in THX AAA headphone amplifier is another meaningful step beyond the NODE NANO. A full-size 6.3 mm headphone socket on the front panel supports a wide range of headphones, while two-way Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX Adaptive allows the NODE to receive Bluetooth audio or transmit to compatible wireless headphones. Bluesound specifies 230 mW into 32 ohms, giving the headphone section enough output for more than casual convenience use.
Bluesound's BluOS platform remains one of the main reasons to choose the NODE. The platform brings together more than 20 music services, internet radio and compatible local libraries, with direct support for Apple Music now available through BluOS alongside Spotify Connect with Spotify Lossless, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect and Roon Ready integration. Apple AirPlay 2 provides another route from compatible Apple devices, while SMB support allows large network music libraries to be indexed and browsed through the BluOS Controller app.
Dirac Live readiness adds another level of flexibility. With the required Dirac licence and compatible calibration microphone purchased separately, the NODE N132 can apply room correction through its analogue RCA, optical and coaxial outputs. This can be particularly useful where speaker placement or room acoustics limit what can be achieved through positioning alone.
The compact chassis is only 220 mm wide and 46 mm high, with a proximity-sensing touch panel across the top. Playback, volume and five programmable presets can be accessed directly without opening the app. IR learning, a 3.5 mm IR input and 12V trigger output also make the Bluesound NODE easier to integrate into an established system.
From a Groove Central perspective, the N132 is the most broadly useful model in the current Bluesound NODE range. The NANO is the simpler choice when you only need streaming into an existing system, while the ICON is aimed at customers wanting balanced XLR outputs, dual-mono conversion and a higher-level source component. The NODE N132 sits between them with the connectivity and control features most people are likely to use day to day, without adding unnecessary complexity.
Award Recognition
The current Bluesound NODE has also received independent recognition, including The Absolute Sound Editors' Choice 2026 and a SoundStage! Simplifi Reviewers' Choice award. Those awards reflect the NODE's combination of useful system integration, BluOS usability and overall value rather than relying on specification alone.

Bluesound NODE N132 FAQ
What is the Bluesound NODE N132 designed for?
The NODE N132 is designed to act as the streaming and digital control centre of an existing stereo system. It combines BluOS network streaming, DAC conversion, variable preamp output, TV audio, headphone amplification, subwoofer integration and optional Dirac Live room correction in one compact component.
How does the NODE N132 differ from the NODE NANO?
The NODE N132 adds HDMI eARC, a combined analogue / optical input, a dedicated RCA subwoofer output, a full-size THX AAA wired headphone amplifier, five programmable presets and Dirac Live readiness. The NODE NANO is smaller and simpler, making it better suited when you only need streaming into an existing amplifier, powered speakers or external DAC.
How does the NODE N132 differ from the NODE ICON?
The NODE ICON sits above the N132 with dual-mono ESS DACs, balanced XLR outputs, a 5-inch colour display, dual full-size headphone outputs and a more ambitious analogue stage. The N132 keeps the core BluOS platform and most day-to-day connectivity at a lower price and in a smaller chassis.
Can I connect the NODE directly to an amplifier or powered speakers?
Yes. The stereo RCA output can operate at fixed level into a conventional integrated amplifier or preamplifier, or with variable volume control into compatible powered speakers or power amplifiers.
Can I connect the NODE N132 to my TV?
Yes. HDMI eARC allows a compatible TV to send audio directly to the NODE. Dolby Digital decoding also makes it practical for stereo TV, movie and gaming systems.
Which streaming services does the NODE N132 support?
The NODE supports Apple Music directly through the current BluOS software, along with Spotify Connect with Spotify Lossless, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect and Roon Ready integration. Apple AirPlay 2 and the wider range of music services and internet radio available through BluOS are also supported.
Does the NODE support high-resolution and DSD playback?
Yes. It supports PCM playback up to 24-bit / 192 kHz and DSD up to DSD256, depending on the source and playback method.
What headphone options does the NODE N132 provide?
The front 6.3 mm output uses THX AAA headphone amplifier technology, with Bluesound specifying 230 mW into 32 ohms. Two-way Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX Adaptive also allows the NODE to transmit audio to compatible Bluetooth headphones as well as receive audio from compatible Bluetooth source devices.
Is the NODE N132 Dirac Live compatible?
Yes. The NODE is Dirac Live Ready. A separate Dirac licence and compatible calibration microphone are required. Dirac processing can be used through the RCA, optical and coaxial outputs; USB output is not supported for Dirac Live.
Can I add a subwoofer?
Yes. The NODE includes a dedicated RCA subwoofer output and can also connect wirelessly to compatible Bluesound subwoofers such as the PULSE SUB+.
Can I use an external DAC?
Yes. Optical, coaxial and USB Audio 2.0 outputs allow the NODE to operate as a network transport into a compatible external DAC.
Who is the NODE N132 best suited to?
It is particularly well suited to listeners who want one compact component to handle streaming, TV audio, headphone listening and system control without moving to a larger or more expensive streamer. It is available in Black or White and also makes sense as the central source in a BluOS multi-room system.
